Compatriots,
It gives me great pleasure to announce that we have the Certificate of Occupancy for the National Confederate Museum at Elm Springs. This has been a long day coming and now we must take this time to celebrate. On Saturday, October 10, 2020 we will rededicate the Jefferson Davis Statue that was taken down in Memphis, TN that has been restored as part of the original theme of the Museum for its beautification and landscaping. After the rededication, we will have a soft opening of the museum for your viewing pleasure. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit YOUR museum. There will be many dignitaries on hand and the gift shop will be open to purchase mementos to remember the occasion. This is a great day indeed and a time to celebrate, but, we need your help to move forward. With this new museum that is dedicated to telling the truth about our ancestors comes great responsibility. We now must move forward in filling it with artifacts, make our library the “Mecca” for Confederate research, and raising the necessary funds to maintain our museum. Past Commander Paul Gramling challenged every member to give 10% of their stimulus check several months back, now I am asking that if every member committed to giving $50.00 a year for the next five years, or $250.00 all at once now, we would have the museum paid for and money to work on artifacts. This is a small price to pay when our ancestors gave their all for a Cause that was righteous and just.
We want OUR museum to be a place that our ancestors will look down upon and smile. Remember, they may take down our ancestors monuments and memorials, but we have built a testimony to our ancestors they can never take down as long as we have your support. Want you join me in making that pledge? Remember, “they may take them down but we put them up bigger and better”. Please come join us at Elm Springs to celebrate this special occasion and help us celebrate. It will be like a homecoming and the museum is the “Queen” for the occasion.
